Quitting Sugar – Three Month Review
It’s been 3 months since I quit eating sugar. In this video, I talk about getting my blood work done again. I’ll tell you about how I almost ate sugar. Three Months Without Sugar
At this point, living without sugar is becoming a routine. I’m down about 20 pounds since quitting sugar. I feel great, but I don’t always have as much energy as I’d like. But I’m quite sure that this is because I need more sleep than I typically get.
I just got my blood drawn again and will soon have the labs results to show what three months without sugar and three months eating low-carb (20 grams per day or less) has done for my cholesterol panel and overall health numbers. I’m excited, but also nervous about it. I expect the numbers to be good, but I can’t help but be anxious. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, though.
Eating Sugar…a Near Miss
When I first gave up sugar, my intention was to still allow myself a sugary dessert a couple times per year. I had a birthday recently and was considering eating a sweet dessert as one of my rare occasions on which I would treat myself. But I wasn’t sure if I was ready. I talked about it with my friends on the Quitting Sugar Facebook Page and they helped me consider all the pros and cons of doing this. In the end, I felt I wasn’t ready to do this. So I didn’t eat anything with sugar in it. Of course, I feel happy with my decision and still had a “sweet” birthday anyway. 🙂
Last but not least, I talked about Quest Bars. For a while, I’ve been hearing about how great the Quest Bar (protein bars) are. So I mailed away for a couple samples. I received Chocolate Brownie and Vanilla Almond Crunch. I’m looking forward to trying them and if I like them, I’ll probably become an affiliate for them. I’ll probably do a blog post about them after I’ve tried them. So if you’re interested, keep checking back.
